Allison Chinchar works as a weather forecaster for CNN and HLN. She has a presence for CNN's New Day Weekend and HLN's Weekend Express, as well CNN International. Before being hired by CNN in June of 2015, she worked as meteorologist for locale stations like Atlanta, Nashville, and Chattanooga, Tennessee. She's covered every aspect of hurricanes, blizzards storms, flooding, and wildfires, receiving an Emmy nomination for her reporting of Dorian, the hurricane that struck the Bahamas in 2019. Around 200 tornadoes occurred on April 27, 2011. Her background as an environmental researcher enabled her to write stories about climate change as well as natural catastrophes like the eruption of volcanoes, earthquakes, and so on. Chinchar has a bachelor's degree in Atmospheric Science, which she received from The Ohio State University. She is a member of a number of associations, including the American Meteorological Society and Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society.
