Ana Maria Cristina Polo Gonzalez was born in Havana Cuba. The family moved to Miami after she reached 2 years old. Ana was lived in Havana in the Cuban capital. She moved to Miami with her family around the age of 2 following her move from Havana. Ana Maria Polo, a resident of Habana Cuba hosts the renowned Telemundo show "Caso Cerradowhich was the first Spanish program to be nominated for an Emmy award in the Daytime Entertainment category. The program was ranked in 2015 as the #1 Spanish-language television program on the time slot of 4 PM in all of the demos. Polo is a Cuban-born American and was born the 11th of April 1959. She went to Florida International University and graduated in the field of political science. From there she earned her PhD in law from the University of Miami and practiced law for twenty years in the city of Miami. She earned her PhD in law from The University of Miami, and then practiced for twenty many years within Miami. Polo first made her appearance on TV in 2001 on Telemundo's Sala de Parejas. She also participated in courts shows which tapped into her knowledge. Literature Works and Accolades 1958, she wrote the novel Los Hijos Muertos (The dead children), with which she received the Critic's Prize as well as the Spanish National Prize for Literature. Ana Maria Matute fled Spain in her home in the United States 1960. Polo, an ovarian cancer survivor, frequently raises money for this cause and speaks at events. Polo has been an advocate for LGBT concerns. She holds a law degree at University of Miami. University of Miami School of Law, and she is also a Florida Bar Member.
